Project Summaries
Project 1: Community System Strengthening Project
Funded by: Global Fund/ARFH
The community System Strengthening Project aimed to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (ATM). It promoted community contributions to fighting these diseases through demand creation, escort, and active referral services. Implemented in 5 communities of Owan West LGA, Edo State (2013-2015).
Project 2: Community Mobilization for Social Sensitization on Malaria Control
Funded by: Global Fund/ARFH through ACOMIN
Covered 40 communities in Esan Central, Owan East, and Owan West LGAs of Edo State. Strategies included community drama and interpersonal communication sessions to promote malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Demonstrations of Long Lasting Insecticidal Treated Nets (LLINs) were conducted to encourage proper usage.
Project 3: EU Micro Project Program in Six States of Niger Delta (EU-MPP6)
Funded by: European Union
Conducted community mobilization and sensitization in 12 communities of Esan South East, Esan North East, Igueben, Esan West, and Central LGAs. Executed 12 micro projects, including construction and equipping of primary health care facilities, classroom blocks, and income-generating facilities (2006-2008).
Project 4: Edo SACA HIV Program Development Project (HPDP) II
Funded by: World Bank/Edo State Government
Focused on HIV Prevention from Mother to Child Transmission and services delivery to Orphans and Vulnerable Children in several LGAs of Edo State (2014-2017). Mobilized service uptake and supported educational and health initiatives for orphans and vulnerable children.
Project 5: Sustainable Mechanism for Improved Livelihood and Household Empowerment (SMILE) Project
Funded by: USAID through PEPFAR
Supported 4,114 vulnerable children and 1,142 caregivers in Owan East LGA with health, psychosocial, protection, education, and economic support services. Facilitated access to education, household economic strengthening, health and nutrition services, and child protection measures (2015-2018).
Project 6: State Employment and Expenditure For Result (SEEFOR) Project
Funded by: World Bank/Edo State Government
Conducted independent monitoring of SEEFOR projects in Edo North Senatorial District to ensure satisfactory performance through citizens’ inclusion and social accountability. Provided data analysis and recommendations to improve project outcomes.
Project 7: Community Campaign for Cancer Control (C4) Project
Funded by: LAPO
Promoted regular uptake of cancer screening services in Owan East, Owan West, and Estako LGAs (2016-2017). Mobilized and sensitized communities on cancer prevention and management. Reached over 15,000 individuals with sensitization efforts and screened 1,564 persons.
Project 8: GAVI CSO Constituency Project
Funded by: GAVI/ACOMIN
Advocated for the functionality of Primary Health Care (PHC) in several communities in Esan West LGA. Engaged in community mobilization, health talks, and interpersonal communication sessions to increase routine immunization uptake and community ownership.
Project 9: Integrated Child Health and Social Services Award (ICHSSA 2) Project
Funded by: USAID/ARFH
Focused on reducing the impact of HIV/AIDS on orphans and vulnerable children in 6 LGAs of Edo State. Provided targeted services, capacity building, and support to households, communities, and local governments to protect and care for OVCs.
Project 10: Agents for Citizen-Driven Transformation (ACT) Program
Funded by: EU/British Council
Implemented a project to advocate for inclusive and accountable governance in WASH service delivery in Owan West LGA. Developed a 5-year local government-wide investment plan and a performance improvement framework for community-level WASH initiatives.
