Agents For Citizen Driven Transformation (ACT) Program funded by EU/British Council

Under the ACT program, WJF implemented ‘Advocating for Inclusive and Accountable Governance System for increased access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) project in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State. The project used life cycle costing to develop a 5-year Local Government-wide investment plan to advocate for increased funding and timely release of funds for WASH service delivery. Additionally, a performance improvement framework for WASHCOM at the community level was developed.

WJF worked in collaboration with key Ministries, Edo State Small Town and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (STRUWASSA), and the WASH Department at the Local Government in the development, implementation, and monitoring of project progress. Part of the key deliverables as a sustainable measure was to co-develop the Local Government WASH investment plan from 2023 to 2027 that will help to sustain the promotion of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Practices, functional WASH facilities, and reinvigorate dysfunctional WASH facilities in Owan West Local Government Area, of Edo State.
